Owner and operator of A51P, Jared, brought his dream to life in 2022 with Area 51 Piercing in Eugene, Oregon. Jared began piercing in the 90s and developed his formative years in the industry. This has allowed him a unique position in the market resulting in a thriving body jewelry and piercing business. Jared thrives in a community environment where energy and inspiration can bounce and flow freely, which has since fostered the A51P family far and wide.

Jeweler

Jared got his start in jewelry/metalsmithing during his senior year of college. Pursuing a double major in Art History and German language and expecting an academic career path teaching, making art was the furthest thing from his mind. Until he signed up for an "intro to metalsmithing" course at the Appalachian Center for Craft which he thought was a blacksmithing course. Something he could do to blow off and destress from a hectic balance of college and work life. Little did he know it would end up being a jewelry making course and a semester later he was hooked. Academia seemed extremely stifling after experiencing that freedom of creativity and he decided to change his path and dive into jewelry studies full time. After moving to the West Coast and a year of studying jewelry making at the University of Oregon he was ready to start making jewelry full time and after a few years of art shows all over Oregon and Washington he finally found his home at Area 51, where he creates exquisite gold body jewelry for the premier piercing shop in the Eugene area. The fit couldn't be any more precise.

Kait is one of our our beloved body piercers. She has put her devotion into the industry for the last six years, working counter positions and watching her mentors which paved the way to an apprenticeship and now, a full blown piercer position at A51P. Her love for body modification shows when she is educating clients about the piercing process, working her magic in the piercing room, and bedazzling teeth.

Bug is our senior counter staff member and jewelry specialist. They fell in love with the industry and found purpose within it at a young age and finally made the leap towards pursuing their passions in 2022. Bug has found their niche in the industry through photography, their collaborative artistry with our jewelers, and picking out all the shiny adornments that line our cases. "Piercing is for everyone, and our jewelry should reflect each unique personality that walks through the door"

Lilly is one of our primary counter staff members and curation extraordinaires. Starting her industry journey at the beginning of 2023, Lilly is dedicated to continuing her education and finding new ways to help clients express themselves through the wonderful art of piercing and fine body jewelry. In her off-time you can find her sketching out unique jewelry designs, posting curations on the gram, hanging out with her fur-babies, and frolicking in nature. Lilly is always at the ready to help you plan out your next piercing and can’t wait to style you!
